Convención Responds to Hurricane Harvey
We have been in contact with various pastors in the areas of Corpus Christi, Houston Central Texas and others. Reports indicates that some churches suffered flooding and various church members have had to evacuate. Sadly, at least one church member's relative died due to the flooding.
We are thankful for the churches that have volunteered to provide shelter.
Convención is planning a response to Hurricane Harvey and is asking your help to:
  • Pray: "Pray without ceasing ..." (1 Thes. 5:17) for those affected by the hurricane and storms, for the pastors and churches as they minister to those affected, and that the glory of God be manifest in the midst of this need in such a way that many can come to know the power of Christ.
  • Inform: Let us know how our churches, pastors and congregations have been affected by filling out a Disaster Evaluation.
  • Help: Let us know how your church wants to collaborate in this effort.
  • Give: Your gifts will provides goods and services to the affected communities through the Hispanic Baptist churches in the area.
We continue to trust in God's greatness, the collaboration of His people, and the certainty of His promises.
